STAGE 100 EUROPEAN SPRUCE

This is a guitar I built for myself to use in our family band. The European Spruce top and Brazillian rosewood back and sides make it a fairly expensive instrument. Otherwise it is quite plain in its trim and detail.  This combination of woods takes a very long time to open up or “break in” - over ten years with frequent playing. It sounds great now, but will be a monster in a few years.

It is used for many styles from delicate fingerstyle accompaniment to heavy strummed backup of Celtic, Cajun and Australian fiddle tunes. I find the harmonic content of the Stage 100 guitars to be very “modern”, full of complex harmonics - a post rock & roll electric guitar sort of sound. Does that make sense?
