FLORENTINE MANDOLIN

I call this a Florentine model. It has greater high fret access than the A models and is usually finished in the traditional hand-rubbed sunburst (vignette). The body and fingerboard binding are ivoroid. The points are actually there for a reason. The extra blocks inside which support the points actually add to the strength of the neck block area, which is reduced in size from the A models.

I have always liked this model because I saw a picture of Levon Helm of The Band playing one like it.
