MODEL D

The great dreadnought shape which dominates the bluegrass world. I have built many of these and have reasearched guitar sound doing so. After building many voices into these guitars with changes to the traditional bracing, I have found a design which retains the classic deep, dry, crisp sound of the classic vintage dreadnoughts, with a little extra "sting" in the plain treble strings for soloing. 407mm (16") wide. Best with one of the rosewoods or our own special Wandoo body.

Holly 6cm

This guitar was built for a young female songwriter. The figured blackwood and bearclaw Alaskan spruce give a bright, silky sound. To see the guitar in more detail click on the picture.
