Finished 5th September 2002, this is a Studio Jumbo guitar. The top is AAA Alaskan Spruce with great cross - grain silk and some bearclaw. The back and sides are Tasmanian Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon). The neck is Queensland Maple toned to match the body woods. The fingerboard and bridge and head cap are ebony and the body binding is dark Indian Rosewood.
The x bracing in the top is assymetrical and other braces are arranged and graduated to produce a very quick attack and strong midrange. This fine tuning plus a medium 640mm scale length produces a guitar which will fingerpick well for such a large instrument. The strumming sound is warm and balanced.
The bridge saddle is an L.R. Baggs LB6X pickup, which makes a good saddle whether it is plugged in or not!
