Some more views of the new S model mandolin prototype. The top horn has a strap button which balances the instrument very well. The picture on the right shows that the design owes something to the electric guitar. The larger picture below shows the traditional rubbed vignette finish on the maple back. The tailpiece is my own design as used on my other mandolin models. It accepts ball end or loop end strings. The finger rest or pickguard is held on with violin chinrest clamps and can be removed without leaving screw holes in the side of the instrument.
